Dorthea Boulet on Being Thankful For Her Arrest

Dorthea “Dee Dee” Boulet was arrested for possession of a controlled substance in Charleston, West Virginia in 2007. She was sentenced to two-to-10 years in prison, but then offered the opportunity to participate in the drug court program instead. While going through the drug court program, Boulet was a resident at Marie’s House Recovery Center in Wayne, West Virginia.

Today, Boulet lives independently and has been sober for two-and-a-half years. She has custody of her children and plans to start college in the fall of 2020.
